Kazooie
First Appearance: Banjo-Kazooie (1998)
Last Appearance: Banjo-Pilot (2005)

Nobody puts Kazooie in the corner!

Residing in Banjo’s backpack, Kazooie has always been there when Banjo needs her most. Kazooie does the arguing for Banjo and lashes out at side characters when Banjo usually reserves his judgment. Thus, what can we conclude about Kazooie? She’s a strong individual who, at any moment, can change the outcome of any battle for Banjo. Besides, who wouldn’t want a buddy around that can transform into a dragon as she did in Banjo-Tooie?

Pikachu
First Appearance: Pokemon Blue/Red (1998)
Last Appearance: Super Smash Brothers Brawl (2008)

How can anyone resist his charm?

Everyone’s beloved Pokemon has continually been the star of the series but the majority of his fame can be attributed to the anime. Riding shotgun with Ash, the protagonist of the anime, Pikachu rose to fame quickly and was granted the chance to follow around the players in Pokemon Yellow. Following trainers around in Pokemon Yellow gave players the ability to interact with Pikachu and see his current mood. But even with the limited interaction in Pokemon Yellow, Pikachu has grown to be one of the most adored animal partners in the last decade.

Peter Puppy
First Appearance: Earthworm Jim (1994)
Last Appearance: Earthworm Jim 3D (1999)

Being cute allows him to get away with everything.

As an anthropomorphic dog with the knack of transforming into a monstrous beast when he’s hurt or scared, Peter Puppy is a peculiar friend of Earthworm Jim. Helping Jim escape peril many times, Peter’s ability to transform into a violent monstrosity is the only thing holding him back of being someone Jim can always count on. Providing moral support and accompanying Jim on hard to complete missions, Peter should be looked to as an idol for any wannabe animal sidekicks.
