John Madden is getting old, there's no doubt about it.  Today on his radio show, which can be downloaded from the KCBS site, Madden let it slip that Vince Young, second-year quarterback for the Tennessee Titans, will be the cover athlete on Madden 08. 

When asked about the cover boy, Madden unequivocally stated, "Vince Young is going to be on the cover.  Why, is that not out yet?  Did I just let something out of the bag?"

Yes, John, you did.

The news was supposed to break later tonight as Vince Young is scheduled to appear on the Jimmy Kimmel Show, as the beginning of a tour to promote the new game.  Will he be able to overcome the dreaded Madden curse?  Only time will tell, but one thing's for sure.  Chargers fans just breathed a HUGE sigh of relief.
