Sources suggest that a StarCraft MMO will be officially revealed by Blizzard on May 19.
Rumors about StarCraft 2 have been floating around the Internet for some weeks now, but CVG are now reporting that their sources have confirmed an announcement is going to be made on May 19.
The new StarCraft installment is reportedly going to be a massively-multiplayer online title “in the style of World of Warcraft,” according to CVG’s “well placed US sources.”
If true, the announcement will be made by Blizzard at their upcoming even in South Korea, and will no doubt leave some fans disappointed that the new title is an online spin-off rather than a direct RTS sequel.
World of Warcraft has proved that MMOs can be insanely popular, and a great money-making venture, but as of yet no other titles have managed to emulate its success, will the StarCraft MMO be any different?
Stick with GWN for the official announcement as we approach May 19.
