NVIDIA today announced the launch of the GeForce 9800GX2 graphics card, which it claims is “bar none the fasts graphics card on the planet,” at the current time. 

“The GeForce 9800GX2 is at the cutting edge of technology; with 256 screaming fast processor cores and a 1GB total framebuffer, all running through PCI Express 2.0, means the GeForce 9800GX2 is designed from the ground up for Gaming at Extreme HD resolutions.”

When the 9800GX2 is combined with an nForce 790i Ultra SLI chipset, Hybrid Power allows less-intensive application to run solely using the integrated GPU, and more-intensive applications to use both in tandem.
