LucasArts has announced the release date for one of its most anticipated games, its latest adventure set in the Star Wars universe.
LucasArts is using Spike TV's two-weekend showing of all six Star Wars films to drum up excitement about the upcoming Star Wars:The Force Unleashed game.
The company has announced that the much anticipated game will hit store shelves Sept. 16. It will preach to a very enthusiastic choir during Spike TV's movie marathons, promising a special look at the game. If you have watched 10 seconds of cable TV in the past week, you've probably seen a commercial for that Spike TV showing.
As the title indicates, you are playing on the Dark Side of the Force in this game. You are Darth Vader's secret apprentice, charged with helping him hunt down the remaining Jedi in the time frame between the prequels and the original film trilogy. The Force looks to be considerably amped up in this game, as previously shown trailers have your character pulling ships out of the air with your powers. That's a trick Vader couldn't pull off in the movies and as his apprentice, you would be weaker than Vader. Or would you? Cue diabolical laughter.
