Big titles combined with Spring Break may have yielded a huge month for gamers, according to at least one analyst.
Lazard Capital Markets analyst Colin Sebastian forecasts that video game software sales for March grew by 35 percent, fueled by high-profile releases like Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Rainbow Six Vegas 2.
Other big sellers included Army of Two as well as continued sales of Rock Band and Call of Duty 4. Sebastian thinks the early Easter holiday and the extended spring break left young gamers lots of time to buy and play the hot new releases.
April will likely blow March's sales numbers away thanks to Grand Theft Auto IV, a multi-console juggernaut anticipated to be one of the biggest titles of the entire year.
