Hold Up on That Flawless Victory, Evil Doer

If the picture right there didn't make your head cave in, read on about Midway's latest plan to reinvigorate the Mortal Kombat franchise.

If this had been announced two weeks ago I'd have sworn it was somebody's April Fool's prank. But no, at Midway Gamers Day the company really did announce that fighting game fans will be able to see if Subzero can put Superman on ice.

The only confirmed characters from the comic company were two thirds of DC's Holy Trinity, Superman and Batman. From Midway, Scorpion and Subzero were announced. All four are pretty much no-brainers. The rumor going now will be a hard pill for diehard MK fans to swallow: No Fatalities.

That makes a lot of sense, as it's doubtful DC would allow anyone to rip Superman's limbs off or pull out his spine. Here's hoping this game will live up to the lineage of Marvel vs. Capcom.
