AMD Announces Changing The Game

Teaching kids how to “develop games with social content.”

AMD's newly launched AMD Foundation this week announced the Changing the Game initiative, a project which aims to “improve critical technical and life skills by teaching kids to develop digital games with social content.”

“Today’s youth are highly concerned about social issues and the current generation of youth gamers is among the most socially conscious in history,” said Suzanne Seggerman, co-founder and president of the initiative.
“The movement toward educating and engaging youth through digital games for change not only raises awareness of the importance of social issues, but gives youth an opportunity to make a difference.”

AMD will be using the initiative as a chance to donate to nonprofit organizations that teach about social games. It will also be hosting a 'Let the Games Begin' workshop as part of the new Games for Change Festival.

You can find additional details about the initiative at AMD.com/ChangingTheGame. Thanks to Kotaku for the tip.
