At its Worldwide Invitational Event, Blizzard announced the highly anticipated RPG Diablo III.
With the eyes of the PC gaming world squarely fixed on Blizzard at its two-day Paris event, Blizzard Entertainment gave a demo of Diablo III. Amazingly, the Internet has not yet completely crashed.
It's been eight years since gamers last hacked and slashed their way through Diablo II's fantasy setting. That game won numerous awards and sold millions. Diablo III will feature five different character archetypes (including the new Witch Doctor) and randomly generated content. Blizzard also promises environments that will be interactive and destructible.
Its story picks up 20 years after the last game and the fall of Mephisto, Baal and Diablo. The smart money is that Diablo shows up in some form, else they couldn't call the game that, right? Blizzard didn't reveal an expected release date or any system requirements.
