Legendary game creator Will Wright has joined the growing chorus of folks who think the Electronic Entertainment Expo was lame this year.
In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Spore creator Will Wright chimed in with the common theme about 2008's E3: It sucked. The famous gaming mind says the real E3 died a couple of years ago and compared the current event to "a zombie..the walking dead."
"It's such an abrupt end to what was E3, which had been this huge escalating arms race," Wright said. He added that he understands why the plug got pulled on the bigger event, because costs were too much for big companies.
Wright said the current situation swirling around E3 is an uncertain one. In an effort to try and rekindle the magic, E3 returned to the LA Convention Center after a year in Santa Monica. Attendees, for the most part, still left unimpressed and now the event's future is considered to be up in the air.
