Activision Suing For Call of Duty Game Piracy

Home : News : News Story

Activision takes game piracy seriously and is willing to go to court and prove it.

Edge Online reports that Activision is suing New York's James R. Strickland, alleging he illegally copied and distributed Call of Duty 3. They are seeking between $30,000-$150,000 for each infringement.

They are also seeking reimbursement for their legal fees. This case specifically pertains to the Xbox 360 version released in 2006 but Activision alleges he has copied and distributed other copyrighted games. Lawyers for the gaming giant did not comment on how many games Strickland may have distributed or how the company found out. Boy, you do not want to be this guy right now.
