Nightfall opens up the lands of Elona to players. Elona is an African themed world of rich detail, the look of Elona is lush with greens and soft browns of the desert. A good graphics card can really treat the eyes to the beauty of Elona. The story of Nightfall begins with the introduction of a new god to the existing five. The original five gods are your run of the mill Greek inspired gods. The new god awakening is an evil god that was banished to a realm of torment by the other gods. A thousand years ago, a people named the Margonites raged war on the lands of the worshipers of the five gods, and in their carnage they empowered their evil god, Nightfall. The expansion begins with whispers that this evil god has returned to Elona.
The two new classes are the Dervish and the Paragon, and like the other of the eight classes, they have four attributes to specialize. Dervish are a melee area of effect, they are equipped with a scythe and are able to hit multiple enemies at once. They can also buff the party with health and holy damage. The Paragon are the paladins of Elona, they fight evil in all forms with ranged spear attacks and numerous heals and party buffs.
Both classes feel as if great time was spent in lending the flavor of African culture into the design. The Paragon for instance, could have been a cookie cutter Western version of the paladin, but instead was given the Zulian look of a healing ranged attacker.
The introduction and tutorial of the game felt bland and boring. They give the player a rundown of the mechanics, but it is given with the same welcoming as parents would give their son’s date when they find out she’s really a prostitute.

Nightfall is the new African-style influenced expansion for Guild Wars.
Guild Wars introduces two new classes and a new area with the recent expansion pack Nightfall. Guild Wars is the casual player’s free monthly payment MMO. The only software to purchase is the original Guild Wars or the expansions Factions and now Nightfall.
