I believe this game could have benefited hugely by some sort of tutorial or introduction to how the interface scheme works. Referring to the manual isn't a big help because the descriptions for each function aren't exactly clear. However, for people who are familiar with adventure games, this might not be anything new. The addition to an inventory hidden on top of the screen allowed for some interesting items such as a PDA phone which has a few different uses throughout the game. Using the PDA you can access some of the game's objectives and place calls. I searched and searched for the Windows Mobile version of Solitaire, but failed to find it.

George's condition kicks in once again as he easily dangles from the most awkward of places.

I wouldn't put this game in the 'bad' category because of poor design decisions alone. The storyline is solid, not exactly new, but at least it's not another WWII FPS. The voice acting is done well at most parts, although the dialogue is somewhat stereotypical for a detective game. With low system requirements, this might be just the right game to play on the laptop to pass some time while appealing to a larger audience.

I don't see anyone anticipate a co-worker saying, "man, I wish 5pm would hurry up and get here. I want to get home and play Secrets of the Ark" in the near future. But I can see the adventure fans finding something of value buried in there somewhere with Mary of Magdalene.

Highs
Interesting plot; smooth animations; low system requirements.

Lows
Tough controls and camera angles; vague story introduction and objectives; difficult AI and world interaction; extremely linear levels.

Final Verdict
This game probably won't appeal to the majority of the gaming crowd; there certainly is something here that adventure fans will enjoy.
