Instead of using a separate menu for the multiplayer, Unlimited incorporates multiplayer directly into the game. As you drive around the island, you will occasionally find online opponents driving by. You can challenge any of these drivers to a race as you come upon them, as long as you have a comparable car to theirs. They can also challenge you. Whoever wins the race hands over a chunk of their hard earned money, according to stakes agreed on before the race. Besides the race, you can also buy, sell, or trade online for the game's various cars and bling, which is done via a separate menu.

Overall, we found Unlimited to be an entertaining game, for a while anyway. The big, expansive island roads and the wide availability of cars to drive are great, and the push for better cars and bigger houses makes the dreary, money-making exploits required to get said items easier to swallow.
However, once you have run the gamut of challenges, explored the island's various points of interest, and bought up the bulk of the game's available rides, you find that things dull quickly. Ultimately, Unlimited dwindles due to a bit too much open endedness. Though the island is large and detailed, it is still just an island, and there is only so much to see and do on an island. Eventually, it develops a "been there, done that" feeling.

That does not mean Unlimited is necessarily bad. Most racing games become repetitive eventually. The problem is that you become tired of the game right when you are starting to get the best cars. After all, the cars are the real selling point of this game, other than the expansive locale. There just is not enough content to make the game consistently fun throughout this car-buying process. It peaks too soon, leaving you with too many un-driven cars, and too few fun things to do to get them.
