Infernal

Infernal's graphics are quite nice and stand as one of the game's few strengths. Textures, reflections, and lighting are smooth and varied. There is a nice physics system that allows your guy to knock various objects around. We also enjoyed the numerous cool effects associated with Ryan the Angel's powers. Facial animations need some work, but overall, we enjoyed the look of things very much. It certainly is not cutting edge, but it gets the job done quite effectively.

Sound effects and music are appropriate as well. Ryan's weaponry is loud and aggressive sounding, as is the metal score that plays in the background. Voice acting is above par, though sometimes goes over the top.

There is no multiplayer game with Infernal, which is yet another letdown. The basic nature of the gameplay could have translated better to a multiplayer game, which might have salvaged something in Infernal's favor. As it stands now, you will have to make do with the 6 to 10 hours of single player game available. Which, considering the above, is more than enough.

Infernal is as dull as watching flies copulate on drying wet paint. The story is trite and ripped off, the characters are completely two-dimensional, and the gameplay is terribly repetitive. It looks and sounds okay, but that's about all we can say in its favor. Unless you have a penchant for dullness in your shooters, or just really like a biblically inspired game, we suggest you skip this one.
