A very good tactical simulator that will appeal to all players, at all levels.
Most U.S. land-based combat lovers couldn’t wait for the North American release of Armed Assault: Combat Operations. The game was released first in Europe in various languages, including Czech and German. U.S. players were so hard up (or impatient) that they were buying the game from overseas, just to get a first look. That’s what happens when the first game of the series was so good.

Armed Assault: Combat Operations (ArmedA) from Bohemia Interactive, who were also the developers of Operation Flashpoint. Think of Armed Assault as a patched up version of Operation Flashpoint as opposed to a brand new game. The look of the game is markedly better than Operation Flashpoint (Opflash). Although, at times it looks like the graphics from ArmedA are pasted over Opflash. The textures in the game seem to revert to its Opflash beginnings every now and then. Vehicle graphics also become horribly corrupted as well.
Textures and skins disappear from time to time during gameplay as well. I still don’t know what the inside of the Stryker APC looks like, because all of the internal textures are missing. I went through several Nvidia graphic drivers in order to correct the problem with the disappearing textures, but still no success in correcting the problem. The most disturbing thing that bothers me with the graphic corruption is the game recommends using a Nvidia card. There’s even the Nvidia logo at the game’s startup screen.

Gameplay is set on the island of Saharani, a huge island with two politically opposing sides. Akin to North and South Korea .One side using Warsaw Pact (Russian designed) equipment and the other side using NATO (United States designed) equipment. During campaign gameplay, you play from the game from the NATO perspective. It would’ve been nice if an opposing campaign were included.
