Resident Evil 4

By this point in a review, with any other game sporting issues like this one has, we would be telling you to look elsewhere - and that is the most ironic part. RE4 is a 2 year old game, ported over from an outdated platform in a rather mediocre fashion, which has imbued it with numerous graphical and control problems that make it often ugly and virtually unplayable.

Yet despite all of that, and seemingly defying all probability, just enough of the brilliant essence of this game has survived its troublesome porting over to make its resulting short comings forgivable. Sure, it would have been nice if they had worked a bit harder to preserve the quality of the cutscenes, or incorporated some mouse aim support. Yet what we have works well enough to make it worth the paltry $20 US.

So all of you PC fans who do not have access to a Sony or Nintendo console, go buy yourself a gamepad and pick up a copy of Resident Evil 4. You might not always have a lot of eye candy to enjoy or the convenience of a keyboard and mouse combo at your disposal, but you will nonetheless have something fun to play.

Highs
Fun, challenging, and exciting game play; great sound; good price.

Lows
Poor graphics; no mouse aim; needs a gamepad to be played effectively.

Final Verdict
Despite a terrible porting job and all the problems that come with that, enough of what makes Resident Evil 4 a great game survives to make it worth your time.
