United's graphics are a nice improvement over the previous versions, while still staying true to the design of the previous games. Car models are much more realistic and detailed, as are the tracks and environments. Sound effects are relatively straightforward, lots of engine noise, lots of tire squeal. The music is somewhat annoying. Resembling something one would hear in a European techno club, it gets old fairly quickly. Thankfully, it can be turned off.

Overall, TrackMania: United is a great little racing game with plenty of fun and variety. It is not something for the simulator fans, quite obviously. Yet with the new online community features and the incredible track editor, it offers seemingly boundless fun for fans of arcade style racers.
