Utterly convincing simulations of five unique and wildly popular WWII fighter planes for the best civilian flight simulator of all time.

We MS Flight Simulator fans are an odd breed. Over more than a quarter of a century, we’ve scooped up millions of copies of Microsoft’s venerable series, now in it’s ninth iteration, knowing full well it features exclusively civilian flight, yet we still crave the chance to jump into a combat aircraft for a trip around the FS world. For years, we’ve attempted to sate our desire to pilot military planes in the virtual world by downloading freeware models from all over the Internet. Gradually, enterprising third party companies have developed payware military aircraft add-ons, but some of the results have been of questionable quality.

In recent years, one company, Shockwave Productions, has ascended rapidly to elite status to Flight Simulator enthusiasts with the release in 2004 of the stunning Wings of Power I: WWII Heavy Bombers and Jets. WOPI was one of the most commercially successful and highest rated add-ons in the history of the Flight Simulator franchise. Not content to rest on its laurels, Shockwave is back with Wings of Power II: World War II Fighters - Special Edition (WOPII).

WOPII adds five of the most notable fighters from the last world war: the North American P-51D (Mustang); the British Supermarine MK1B (Spitfire); the North American P-47D (Thunderbolt); the German Messerschmitt Bf 109; and the Japanese Mitsubishi A6M5 (Zero).
