After playing the game for an agonizing 5 days I finally gave up. I had accomplished the first three missions (training missions. I never made it to the actual game) but sometimes would not even know it. Once in a while the screen pops up with “VICTORY” or “DEFEAT” but otherwise you have no way of knowing where you stand. Sometimes there would be the report of a weapon hitting the tank and then your view is switched to an external view, leaving you puzzled and not knowing what to do. It took doing this a couple times to figure out that this sequence meant that it was over for me. At one point I ran over a mine field, blowing the tank sky high and a subtitle appeared saying, “I think we’ve hit something.” No kidding?

The driver’s view is provides no view of the tank, just a small HUD with very little information and the sprawling landscape in front of you. The commander view is almost worthless seeing as you cannot call out enemy locations, and have no indication how to do such a thing if you could. Learning to fire the gun is totally up to you to figure out how it’s done. When you do fire the gun the smoke produced leaves you no way to see if you hit the target or not, you can only pray to see the explosion through the smoke. The list is a mile long of where this game needs to improve. The only satisfaction I ever received during this trial was reading the interesting quotes from famous conquerors during the load screens.

Honestly, I think that the team that developed the game did try to strive for something that resembled a tank simulator but they fell desperately short on almost every objective when it comes to making a modern game/simulator. I searched deep inside of me to find something nice to say about the game, but all I can come up with is “The menus were kind of nice looking.”

Stole 5 days from me that I’ll never get back.

I wouldn’t even bother installing this on your PC if you got your hands on a free copy.
